The broadcasting regulator Ofcom have replied to my letter calling on them to stop the BBC axing our local evening TV news. They repeat the point I’ve made before that BBC One continues to be the most used source of regional news in England.
Ever since the BBC announced it was axing the Oxford edition of “South Today”, I’ve called on the broadcaster to reverse its decision and continue to provide local news for local people. But it still wants to include stories about Aylesbury in a programme made in Southampton.
Inspired by writer Roald Dahl, the WhizzFizzFest is a fantastic annual literary and arts festival in Aylesbury celebrating children’s literature and creativity. So I was delighted to attend the parade to kick off this year’s celebrations on Saturday.
