I enjoyed meeting residents and staff at the new Chartwell Manor care home, part of Maria Mallaband Care Group. There were very warm compliments from visiting families about the facilities and service. Lots of activities are on offer too, including crafting and cocktail-mixing!
Despite the wind and rain, it was lovely to pay a return visit to Lindengate Charity to hear about their recent successes. Tonight they launched their winter appeal to raise £80,000 to help achieve their aim of better health & wellbeing through nature!
It was a pleasure to meet the residents and staff at Abbeyfield House in Wendover this morning. The property provides independent living in sheltered housing for older people, with meals included and comfortable shared areas for having a chat, playing games and watching TV.
Like many of my constituents, I had hoped that we were now on an irreversible return to normality, following the intense challenges of the past two years – not least, thanks to the huge success of the vaccine rollout.
Over the past couple of months, many local people have contacted me with concerns about seeing their family doctor, despite most other aspects of our lives returning to normal. In particular, numerous residents have found it difficult to get a face-to-face appointment with their GP.
